Insurance Responsibility
Civil responsibility insurance has been founded and practiced for the first time in France and it referred to covering damages caused by horses and carriages owners. The insurance extended as well to the factories owners responsibilities for damages provoked to employees or third persons.
In the USA the sector of insurance was dominated by British insurance societies. In the year 1852, at Benjamin Franklin’s initiative was founded a homes insurance society against risks caused by fire - Philadelphia Contributionship. Elizur Wright founded more American insurance companies and he sustained the legality of state control upon insurance companies.
He contributed to the elaboration of a correct calculation method of the premiums supply to life insurances and of corresponding tables, necessary in the practice of life insurance.
